Here is a build I made for a gentleman from a 1960’s Walther’s passenger car and converted to a diner – this was a wood and metal car with a scratch build add on, custom details, custom decals, and a few other custom pieces. As with everything I build I always see things I would have done differently, would have done better and changes I would have made but that is the process of constantly improving. I never think the pictures look as well as the actual build and I never photoshop images.
Ever screw up? I know I do and I forgot to remove a sold model from my store site that had been for sale for a few week and and as soon as I sold it off the store site I sold it on the store site … OOPS! So I had to try to build a suitable replacement right and after talking to the customer I designed a new logo and signage for this build to rename it to a building they grew up with.
A here are the results …
An old Bettie Page and Tempest Storm Burlesque … naturally this place didn’t really exist but image if it did. Lit with 12VDC LED lighting, custom made signage and decals.
The latest build a kit from Downtown Deco it’s Addams Ave Part II and all the decals are mine and the kit has a few modification but not many … this one as many of mine are from the wrong side of the tracks, guess you have to build what you know.
Another build based on another old kit … DPM’s Robert’s Dry Cleaning. All custom decal work, weathering, paint and a few addition to give character.
This is DPM’s B. Moore Company Kit weathered out and details with a number of small add-ons to get it a little more life. All of the decals sets are mine.
Here is a building that I’ve made full side decals for each one. I choose to leave the back as if they decided not to remodel it or they ran out of money … either tends to be the case in the real world. A few additive have been put on like the security lights, a/c unit, and extra roof vents. All the decals are custom made Deve’s Decals and are available for sale in my online store.
Old Walthers Kit 3003 Leviathan Manufacturing Co this is been OOP for a while. Nice little kit it a shame they stop producing it.
And yet another DPM model, this is a older kit and the dimples in the side show that.
These Coal Mining Camp Company House from City Classics … I’ve made a few of these and I’d like to make more but the price of the kit keeps going up and up on them to the point that if you don’t have a customer in advance you’ve got a go investment collecting dust on a shelve.
HO Scale 1:87 Painted and weathered up with small details added for looks.
